Mrs. Watkins has been a LVISD trustee for 11 years and served as the Board's President during the 2001-2002 and 2006-2007 school years.  She has a Masters Degree in Education, and is a member of the National School Boards Association, Texas Association of School Boards, Texas Elementary Schools Principals Association (TESPA), AKA, and McLennan County Youth Collaboration. Mrs. Watkins, a principal at the Waco ISD Alternative Campus, is married to Jesse M. Watkins, Jr. and has three children -- Eric, Jessica, and Trey, and a grandson. She enjoys cooking and fishing.
