American Bank (Presented by Dr. Charla Rudd and Dr. Sharon M. Shields)
American Bank continues to be a tremendous partner with the La Vega Independent School District. American Bank not only supports many of our district efforts monetarily, but they also provide human resources to serve in critical roles not only in this district but throughout our entire community.
Aramark (Presented by Ms. Diane Roepke)
Excellent food service management company that works with our district to provide healthy food choices for our students. Dave has implemented many creative programs to feed children in our community as well as our schools.
Bellmead Chamber of Commerce (Presented by Ms. Diane Roepke)
The Bellmead Chamber of Commerce is a phenomenal and critical La Vega ISD partner. The Bellmead Chamber supports many of our District efforts including ten $1,000 Scholarships for deserving seniors, Thanksgiving and Christmas meals for deserving students and families, gifts for New Teacher, and supporting our La Vega Pirates Education Foundation to name a few.
City of Bellmead Police Department (Presented by Dr. Sharon M. Shields)
The City of Bellmead Police Department provides excellent support to La Vega ISD. The police department holds special drives to provide our students with needed school supplies. The police department also provides Christmas gifts to deserving students. They also ensure our students and staff are safe by monitoring traffic and vehicle speed around our schools.
Bernard & Audre Rapoport Foundation (Presented by Dr. Sharon M. Shields)
The Bernard & Audre Rapoport Foundation has been a longtime supporter of the La Vega Independent School District. Over the years, the Rapoport Foundation has supported our students and staff through grant funding and professional expertise. Our most recent grant, "Grow Your Own," will allow La Vega ISD to prepare current students and support staff to become classroom teachers in our district.
Centex Buzz Fast Pitch (Presented by Ms. Angela Ward)
Wes Waller, Owner & Founder, and his team volunteered to guide the La Vega Pirate Education Foundation in their endeavor of establishing an annual fundraiser over a 3-year period. They assist in every aspect of the gala, from printing tickets, to selling tickets and running the event. With their assistance, the La Vega Pirate Education Foundation was able to exceed to annual goal in the inaugural year.
Cooper Foundation (Presented by Dr. Sharon M. Shields)
The Cooper Foundation’s mission is to “make Waco a better or more desirable city in which to live.” Recently, the Cooper Foundation has invested in making the lives and La Vega’s students and staff better through two generous grant awards, Mathematics for Early Learners Academy (MELA) through Baylor University and STREAM enabling our district to provide students with authentic, real-world learning experiences allowing students to experience rigorous and relevant connections between classroom content and career pathways.
Durham Transportation (Presented by Ms. Diane Roepke)
A great partner for our district providing safe and timely transportation for our students. They have also collaborated with our food service to provide a summer feeding program taking a bus out to the neighborhoods to feed children during the summer months.
First Central Credit Union (Presented by Dr. Sharon M. Shields)
First Central Credit Union continues to be a significant partner with La Vega ISD. President Jo Besty Tyler served on our La Vega Pirates Education Foundation as a board member, and they continue to have a representative serving in this capacity. La Vega ISD can always rely on First Central’s financial and human resources support of our efforts. Susan Borg currently serves on our Foundation Board.
H-E-B Plus of Bellmead (Presented by Dr. Peggy Johnson and Dr. Sharon M. Shields)
H-E-B Plus of Bellmead is a phenomenal and vital partner with La Vega ISD. H-E-B Plus provides on-going and vital support of many La Vega ISD efforts. H-E-B provided the newly formed La Vega Pirates Education Foundation with their very first and substantial donation. H-E-B continues to provide resources for many of District efforts. Donated school supplies, seasonal treats for campuses, goods for campus fall festivals, partnered with the primary campus with their initiative called the H-E-B literacy program where students received T-Shirt and books.
Italian Granite (Presented by Dr. Charla Rudd and Dr. Sharon M. Shields)
Italian Granite are fully committed to giving back to the communities they serve. Mr. Neira is a La Vega Pirates Education Foundation board member, where he gives of his time, finances, and resources.
KCEN-TV (Presented by Ms. Angela Ward)
Over the past several years she has increased the amount of positive news stories concerning the district to Waco and the surrounding communities
Saint Paul Lutheran Church (Presented by Ms. Lisa Seawright)
Pastor Larry Krueger, Assistant Pastor Matthew Hardaway, and its congregation provide breakfast and covers our Primary School staff with prayers at the beginning of each year. The Saint Paul congregation also donates school supplies for our students each year as well.
La Vega Pirates Education Foundation (Presented by Ms. Diane Roepke)
The La Vega Pirates Education Foundation has provided phenomenal support to our district. Although a relative new foundation, they have provided over $300K in grants to our teachers to promote creativity in the classroom and good attendance.
L3 Communications (Presented by Ms. Kristi Rizo)
L3 Communications provides Christmas gifts for 50 students at our school. They also provide food, clothing, and monetary donations to our campus for students in need. Approximately 30 employees participate in our mentoring program each year.
Lockridge-Priest (Presented by Ms. Shaunte Stewart and Dr. Sharon M. Shields)
Lockridge-Priest partnered with the YMCA of Central Texas to purchase books for all La Vega Elementary School 2nd-grade students.
McLennan Community College (Presented by Dr. Charla Rudd and Dr. Sharon M. Shields)
President Johnette McKown and the McLennan Community College Team are tremendous partners with La Vega ISD. MCC serves as a leading Institution of Higher Education with our La Vega Early College High School, and they are strong partners with the La Vega High School dual credit program. The college provides students with counseling and guidance in pursuing Associate Degree and transition to four year universities for Bachelor Degrees in the students’ field of interest.
Sam’s Club (Presented by Dr. Sharon M. Shields)
Sam’s Club has been a reliable partner with La Vega ISD. Sam’s Club continues to support many of our campus and district initiatives. La Vega ISD can always rely on Sam’s to be one of the first to volunteer their finances and human resources to support district and community efforts.
Seedmin Financial Services – Horace Mann Insurance (Presented by Dr. Sharon M. Shields)
Mr. and Mrs. James Castellano are long-time supporters of the students, staff, and community of La Vega ISD. The Castellanos recently served as La Vega Pirates Education Foundation board members, and they continue to be generous supporters of our district efforts.
Sparks Memorial United Methodist Church of Bellmead (Presented by Ms. Kristi Rizo)
The church provides food baskets and monetary donations to our campus twice a year.
Superior Health (Presented by Dr. Peggy Johnson)
Superior Health provided a $5,000 educational award to LVPS for Conscious Discipline Workshops. They also supported various family events, and donated backpacks for our Back-to-School Bash.
Texas Animal Medical Center (Presented by Dr. Sharon M. Shields)
Dr. Ervin and the Animal Clinic is a leading supporter of the La Vega Independent School District. Dr. Ervin serves on the La Vega Pirates Education Foundation. She not only gives of her time, but she generously invests in the lives of our students and staff. Dr. Ervin was recently inducted into the inaugural class of the La Vega ISD Hall of Fame.
TYMCO (Presented by Dr. Sharon M. Shields)
Mr. Kenneth, and Mr. Gary Young are tremendous supporters of the La Vega Independent School District. The Young brothers are La Vega ISD alumni, and they have continued to support the students, staff, and district through their generous financial and human (Kaye Morgan) and resources.
VFW Post 2148 (Presented by Ms. Lisa Seawright)
VFW Post 2148 provides monetary donations to our campus to stock our clothes closet for children in need.
YMCA of Central Texas (Presented by Ms. Shaunte' Stewart)
The YMCA of Central Texas partnered with Lochridge-Priest to purchase individualized student books.
