Big Decisions - 9th Grade
La Vega High School will offer “Big Decisions” - a human sexuality curriculum - to 9th grade students from December 13- 17, 2021. The La Vega ISD School Board approved this curriculum based on its age-appropriate, medically-based content. “Big Decisions” also provides information about healthy relationships while promoting abstinence as the healthiest choice to prevent pregnancy and disease transmission.
For the 2021-2022 school year, parents have the opportunity to “opt-in” to allow their child to participate in the instruction. If you would like your child to participate, please sign the form below and return it to the school. The forms are due back to the school by December 8th, 2021. If you do not return the form, your child will not participate. Social emotional learning activities will be provided in place of the sex education curriculum.

La Vega HIgh School ofrecerá “Grandes Decisiones” - un plan de estudios de sexualidad humana - a estudiantes de noveno grado del 13 al 16 de dieciembre de 2021, durante las clases de ciencias. La Junta Escolar de La Vega ISD aprobó este plan de estudios basado en su contenido médico apropiado para la edad. “Grandes Decisiones” también brinda información sobre relaciones saludables al tiempo que promueve la abstinencia como la opción más saludable para prevenir el embarazo y la transmisión de enfermedades.
Para el año escolar 2021-2022, los padres deben “optar por participar” para permitir que su hijo/hija participe en la instrucción. Si desea que su hijo/hija participe, firme la forma a continuación y devuélvelo a la escuela. Las formas deben enviarse a la escuela antes del 8 de dieciembre de 2021. Si no devuelve la forma, su hijo no participará. Se proporcionarán actividades de aprendizaje socioemocional en lugar del plan de estudios de educación sexual.
