Online Learning May Be A Good If Your Child:

• Prefers working independently and/or at his/her own pace.
• Has good time-management skills or is open to developing them.
• Is motivated and able to manage independent work.
• Has a supportive home environment with a parent or guardian who can serve as a Learning Coach (especially for younger students).
• Feels comfortable using technology.
• Would benefit from a flexible schedule (e.g., athletes, performers, teen parents, working students).
• Wants an alternative to traditional school due to bullying, social anxiety, or a need for a different learning environment.
• Prefers a virtual learning experience while remaining enrolled in La Vega ISD.

Online Learning May Not Be Right If Your Child: 

• Prefers daily in-person support to stay motivated.
• Is NOT self-motivated to engage 4-7 hours of active learning on the computer.
• Is NOT well organized.
• Needs continual reminders to stay on task.
• Needs consistent social interaction to stay engaged.
• Does NOT have reliable internet access.
• Enjoys hands-on learning or activities that require a physical classroom.
• Requires daily, in-person instruction or intensive, on-campus support.
